The Institute for Public Policy Education (IPPE) is a 501 (c (3) not-for profit, community based organization headquartered in Washington, DC. From this location, the Institute is able to draw upon leaders from a wide spectrum of disciplines and policy areas in which to promote the in-depth examination of trends, issues, and challenges facing our public and private institutions.
The primary mission of the IPPE is to develop creative public forums in which policymakers, industry leaders and community representatives can come together to discuss issues of importance and timeliness. IPPE believes that the proper forum is just as critical to the success of public policy development as are the participants and issues selected. It is this need to develop the balance of these elements of public policy development that the IPPE seeks to create non-partisan and welcoming formats for the examination and discussion of critical issues at a community based levels.
IPPE’s concentration emanates from the requirement to promote educational development, provide an interdisciplinary forum, increase communities’ understanding of issues and the political process, and the role of policymakers in this process. At the same time, such public policy forums will increase the policymakers’ knowledge of concerns and attitudes from the community perspective.
The IPPE Board of Directors represents a cross section of backgrounds and experiences – and whose collective expertise brings a unique perspective to the examination of public policy issues. Included among these backgrounds are retired military personnel who commanded the largest fleet in world history, media relations specialists with deep backgrounds in community outreach, lobbying veterans with in-depth understanding of the policymakers and process, and a team of research analysts with comprehensive backgrounds in policy formulation.
Together, the IPPE team continues to develop the most cutting edge opportunities for the advancement of public policy debate.
